The Atlas works without an account. We explain what the browser stores, what our hosting infrastructure may process, and what changes would require this notice to change.

Current model · 14 July 2026

Local-first
by design.

The tasting journal, course progress and theme preference use browser storage on the device you are using. Those entries are not sent to an Atlas account or database because the site does not currently have either. Clearing site data can remove them; exporting journal entries is the reader’s responsibility.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most web infrastructure, Cloudflare may process technical request information needed to provide security, reliability and aggregate service reporting, such as IP address, browser information, requested URL and timing. The Atlas does not currently place advertising pixels or sell personal information.

Links to regulators, research publishers, makers and other external sites leave the Atlas. Those services apply their own privacy terms. An external-link arrow does not imply endorsement.

If we add accounts, email, personalized saves, payments, advertising or a new analytics product, we will update this notice before using that feature and explain the data, purpose, retention and available controls.
