Roast profile

The planned relationship among time, product temperature, heat input and airflow during roasting.

Making · working definition

Use the word
with precision.

Why it matters
Roasting develops aroma, reduces moisture and microbial load, loosens shell and changes acidity; the choices must fit the bean and desired style.
Common confusion
One temperature cannot describe a roast without time, airflow, load, equipment and product-temperature context.
Practical example
A small delicate lot may need a different heat curve from large dense beans, even when both end at a similar color.
